Summary
One love. One destiny. But it only takes one person to bring the house of cards tumbling down…
Cadence
Seventeen years ago, Fitz Quinn stole my heart.
He took my innocence, then left me broken.
When a twist of fate brought us together again, I quickly learned even time couldn’t dim our chemistry.
Fitz was sexier than ever—successful and provocative.
He became the man I always knew he would be, and the heat between us quickly became unbearable.
Despite the promise I made to myself, the walls to my heart started to crumble.
Before I could stop it, I fell for him all over again.
But things are so much more complicated now.
Live are at stake.
I need to decide if sacrificing my values is worth being with the only man I have ever loved.
Fitz
They call me Washington’s fixer.
Fixing the mistake I made with Cadence all those years ago should be simple.
Except it isn’t.
Things aren’t the same as they once were.
Cadence is the driving force behind a non-profit organization where she handles each case with the determination of a shark. I’m the CEO for a public relations firm—one that represents clients who oppose everything Cadence stands for. What do they say about opposites attract?
But Cadence is hiding something—I know it.
Now we’re at a crossroad. I need to decide if going against my father is worth pursuing a second chance with her.
One wrong move and my reputation could be obliterated.
From Amazon Bestselling Author, Dakota Willink, comes the second book in the Fade Into You series—a second chance romance that will leave you breathless!

Conditional Brilliance
First, let me say that I LOVED this story--both part 1 and this conclusion. It was raw, poignant, sweet, dramatic, and overwhelming. It was also very well-written, and I felt the emotions of these characters all the way to my stomach, and am so glad I took the time to enjoy these stories. I do have a few problems with this particular installment, but I won't go into them because of spoilers; just to say that the hotel situation feels a bit too much like a convenient plot device and it doesn't fit with the overall emotional, realistic, complex, and compelling nature of the rest of the series, so I didn't love that, and it almost reduced the whole to 4 stars for me. I can see that it was the best way to work out a narrative situation which may have made the story continue much longer than necessary, but it's a bit on the cheap side of a way out for me as the reader. Also, Cadence came up with waaaayyyy too many excuses to keep putting on that conversation, but that didn't bother me as much, because obviously she was terrified and didn't have the emotional fortitude to deal with it, so it's okay how all the worked out. I just feel like this story had such a rich and decadent emotional tone with such a fragile situation that we didn't need the additional third act drama; though I was so very pleased with how well Fitz processed things and figured out his feelings. Overall, I loved it, and almost wish I could read it again for the first time. I'm positive this will be a story I come back to again in time.

Fitz & Cadence Book 2
4.5 stars
Defined was a heartfelt, heartwarming and heartbreaking book. How can one person change the lives of two, eventually four people for their own gain. My heart broke for Fitz and Cadence 17 years ago, and it broke again when they finally saw each other. Life “circumstances” kept them apart but fate brought them and their children together in the most surprising way.
This book had some twists and turns I was not expecting that brought the book to its conclusion and a well deserved HEA.
Lacy Laurel is not one of my favourite narrators but I’m happy to say that her narration has vastly improved from previous audiobooks I listened to and I was able to connect to Cadence. Zachary Webber is relatively new to me but I did enjoy his portrayal of Fitz.

Good story
This was a great listen, I loved how the narrators brought this to life, Zachary and Laya did a really good job of keeping my attention, just the right amount of inflection.

The rollercoaster romance continues.
I absolutely adored this story about Cadence and Fitz. This book start 17 years from when they first met. Both have gotten on with their lives, never being able to forget each other. Cadence runs a centre to help immigrants and their families to stay in America, whereas Fitz owns a PR company helping prominent people get out of trouble, with his father still trying to run his life.
They meet by accident, though Fitz says straight out he has never stopped loving her and wants to continue from where they left off, with Cadence being unsure about him, whether firstly he’ll leave her again and leave her more heartbroken, if possible than before. She still feels their connection and they do have some steamy moments, but she has a secret she is scared and unsure about telling him. Eventually, she makes a decision to tell him, but it was too late, as he had found it out. He is angry, she becomes angry, neither knowing how this will end. There are revelations, intrigue and suspense in this book also.
I loved this love story, showing how each had grown and developed over the years, yet their love for each other never diminished.
I would definately recommend this author and these heart felt books.
