About this listen
DI Kelly Porter is back. But will her latest case push her beyond her limits?
On a peaceful summer morning in the Lake District, a dog walker discovers a woman’s body outside the local church. She has been brutally murdered, mutilated, and left with nothing but a roll of banknotes.
Kelly takes charge of the investigation team, determined to catch the killer. But as the death toll rises, it becomes clear this could only be the work of a dangerous mastermind unlike anything she has encountered before.
Can she put the pieces of the puzzle together before terror strikes even closer to home?
Don’t miss this electrifying crime thriller, perfect for fans of Ann Cleeves and Patricia Gibney.

Another page turner
Really enjoying this series, especially with the story coming from 2 perspectives, DCI Kelly at work and then her home life too. This was a tale which is particularly nasty and gruesome, with the random killer striking in random locations along with poems which may imply motive and reasoning for the death of the ladies. And then Kelly and her sisters lives may also be vulnerable

This 2nd book by Rachel Lynch has been brilliant
I read the first book, and it was good to get all the background knowledge for this series. This second book is by far better than first book, couldn’t put it down. I am looking forward to 3rd book now.

Not unputdownable!
story is too high level for me, not enough description, not enough emotion, can't really get into the characters enough. I thought the story was pretty boring really, I did listen to the end but I thought it was a bit farfetched, not enough real description of any juicy bits, she always mentions bits e.g. the guy thst asks to speak to a male detective and then doesn't bother giving you the detail, do I never felt my emotions stir at all during the whole book except to be bored on occasion, and it had too much of a happy ending for me for a crime book.

great read/listen
This is a brilliant book well read and written. Clare Kissane bring the characters to life through her narration. As a exile of Cumbria i feel the author Rachel Lynch not only brings the crime story to life, She also brings home the beauty and atmosphere of the northern Lake District..
I wholly recommend people listen read this brilliant book.

Unbelievably good series
I would highly recommend this series of books . You will love the main character, what a woman ! Each story is well thought out with brilliant plots and twists . The narration at the start was a small bit annoying but I adjusted the speed and it's perfect now , she does a great job although she tends to pause in places where it doesn't need. Nothing major.
