About this listen
Modern-day Georgia. The state Supreme Court celebrates the opening of its new courthouse, but the chief justice - shot dead in his chambers - is late to the party.
Enter ex-lawyer Chance Meridian. Pressed into service by an offer he cannot refuse, Chance launches the search for the bold killer. But dirty politics is part of Atlanta’s DNA. The town is full of secrets - secrets too damning to see the light of sunshine. And if Chance cannot crack the case and fast, the next murder on the court’s docket could be his own.
A stand-alone follow-up to the best-selling The Murder of Sara Barton, Death to the Chief is a thrilling legal mystery that oozes with intrigue and suspense.

Gripping!!!
Loved the twists and turns. The moral anguish Chance goes through is something that everyone battles with in varying degrees!!! Love it

Very enjoyable
Loved this book. Just as good as the first one and great narration. I have also enjoyed the third book already and going on to the fourth.

narrator, full of feeling, sometimes so funny in that southern drawl, loved it.
such a lot of dialogue, thoughts, detailed story, had to go back a few times to sort what was going on, that's what makes a great story for me

Good story, shame about the narrator !
I enjoy these books, easy to follow and clever. The only down part was the narrator- he performed the story well just he sounds like a ageing Forrest Gump - and the main character is 40 - just didn’t really fit.

Not too gripping
Plot too convoluted and not enough action. The principale cgar6acter is interesting but all the possibile suspects were confusing. The reader didn't help. He sounds like a croaky elderly man.
