About this listen
An offbeat, funny and heartwarming romantic novel from the fabulous King of Strictly, Craig Revel Horwood.
Set against the colourful boho backdrop of London's Camden in the 1990s, Craig Revel Horwood's first novel, Dances and Dreams on Diamond Street, tells the story of an unlikely family of friends who each rent a room in a ramshackle six-bedroom, four-storey townhouse. Like any family, the residents of Diamond Street sometimes fight and often act up, but when the chips are down, they're there for each other in an instant - usually brandishing a cheap bottle of booze and the offer of an impromptu kitchen disco.
Presided over by the wise-cracking but warm-hearted patriarch of the family Danny Hall, a professional dancer turned choreographer, the novel follows a year in the life of the inhabitants of Diamond Street, rough diamonds one and all, as they try to achieve their dreams - with unexpected, heart-warming and sometimes hilarious results.

Loved all of the characters, the story
Nothing to dislike about this book, it’s relevant and heartwarming and shows that all families do not have to be blood relatives

Enjoyed it
It took a while to get into it, however, once the characters developed, it was delightful. The sound was a little quiet, I had the sound on my earphones at max.

This is just a lovely book about people and every day lives, snd how their relationships develop. Set in London the plot revolves around some very different flat mates including a choreographer, dancer, costume designer nurse etc. it's just a nice read with more ups than downs.

Such real characters, loved them!
I was amazed at how quickly I warmed to all the characters, they had depth. This story is full of all the joys and trials of living with a great flavour of London and the world of dance. Well written and excellently read!!

Surprisingly entertaining
I bought this on a whim and wasn’t entirely convinced it would be my thing but I actually really enjoyed it. It’s sunbed reading, light and pleasant but I’m glad I bought it.
