About this listen

A Gotrek & Felix Audiobook

Five centuries ago, a great city of the Empire was destroyed by a comet and became a haunted nightmare called the City of the Damned. Though it is long gone, its legacy remains, and through dark magic, Gotrek and Felix are about to experience the horrors it holds.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's a gripping tale featuring events and supernatural elements that will haunt the Slayer and his companion in the future, even as they explore the past.

THE STORY

Long have the City of the Damned's fallen towers remained undisturbed by the people of Ostermark, but now an ancient evil stirs in the depths, gathering its strength once more.

Gotrek and Felix are swept up in the crusade of Baron Gratz von Kuber to cleanse the city, and as the ruins are torn from the passage of time itself, the Slayer's doom appears to be approaching more quickly than either of them would like.

another banger from gumer and keeble

very discriotive and poetic language really conjures the scenery to the imagination.

keeble is one of the best narrators out there who actually has a broad repertoire of regional and demon like voices so you know who's talking at all times.

love this series so much

Not a fan of this writing

Compared to the last years worth of books I’ve listened this was easily the worst, it had a few cool highlights but the majority was a mess to listen too, maybe it was the setting involving time lines and different ‘worlds’ but compared to what the standard G&F adventure is like this was not in the same ball park.

Only if you need the complete story

This series have been on a downward slope, it loses its interesting characters to only describing tedious fighting .

Not great

Was excited there was another book, fantastic narration as always but I have no idea what’s going on in the story. I’m 1/2 way through and all I know is they’re in the city of the damned. It just hasn’t gripped me like the rest of the series. I agree with the other reviews here - only pick this up if you need a Gotrex and Felix fix, just be warned you’re going to have to work to enjoy it

A Very Meh Installation

Surprisingly dull and long winded, for a conclusion that throws itself all over the place to follow. Grab if you need a Gotrek and Felix fix, but this is no Trollslayer.

Good but there are better G&F books

Far from the best novel but still a fun listen. Keep them coming please Audible!

Not very Good

I am a great fan of Gotrek and Felix, and Jonathan Keebles narration. that said I struggled to make any sense of this story, and where it fits in the overall time line, other than it's after Skavenslayer. I purchased this book purely because I have all the others, if you are new to Gotrek and Felix choose any of the other books .

Give this a miss

VA - amazing as always, he did his best with the material given.

Story - honestly, you can give this one a miss. Start and end are both good, classic G&F adventure, however 95% of the middle felt boring and just wrong, the writing style and the way characters acted just did not match up to previous books.

Disappointing

I was initially excited at having a book set in Mordheim. It's as if the author doesn't know the setting very well and doesn't use any of the series' other characters. Generic fantasy for the most part with some warhammer themes in. Performance is excellent as ever.

the story felt a bit dull and did stand out as repeat of one of the previous ones

the story was a bit confusing and lacked the humor that the other novels have
