Summary

Finnian Kane, famous master of illusion, mentalist, and renowned atheist, has a crisis of faith after her sister's death. She rents a cottage in the village of Axedale in Kent, desperately trying to find a safe haven from the intrusive media to grieve and work out how to move on.

The Reverend Bridget Claremont makes it her mission to help the enigmatic Finnian find her faith in life again. Bridge has long yearned for a life partner, and her best friend's wedding has intensified that desire. But when you're a lesbian vicar in a small English village, it's not easy to find your perfect match.

Their chemistry is clear from the start, despite their different beliefs and Bridge insisting Finn isn't her type. But will the mentalist find the magic that can charm the vicar?

A struggle

Two thirds of this book were ok, then I felt like I was listening to straight erotica. The build up at the start and character development were good. This was let down by a seemingly rushed ending. I would not recommend this title.

An unexpected but enjoyable listen

Really enjoyed this story in the end, wasn't sure to begin with but loved the relationships between the different characters

Imagine my surprise...

Imagine my surprise when driving at 70mph down the M6 discovering the vicar is a dominatrix. Nearly crashed the car. Not judging but a hint in the plot summary would have been nice.

Well......

Well it seems that between them the author and the narrator managed to create quite a poor 'listen' !
I liked the idea of a sexy vicar and a bad girl romance, heck that's why I wasted a credit on the audiobook.
The reality (if you can call fiction reality?) was a book that in places was plain cringeworthy ,some of the writing and narration was that bad !
Those of you that like hot sex scenes will be rewarded if you stick with it until nearer the end !

Charming fairytale fetishism

A fairly predictable but sweet romance. The narration is particularly well performed with both central characters given consistent, diverse and characterful voices. I confess I found the sex scenes a little repetitive.
