The grovelling is even better in audio form!
Pack your bags because we’re heading back to Cherry Peak! Now where do I start….
Garrison “sir douchealot” Beckett is a complete and utter douchecaneo and I will stand by this fact. We have history and when Hannah announced that he was going to be the MMC for Queen Poppy I was sceptical to say the least. That’s because Poppy deserves the absolute world!
Now the one thing I have come to learn when you are faced with a Rich AF Man with a stick so far up himself is that when they meet their person, they will crumble to their knees (literally). Garrison needed to come to Cherry Peak. He needed to breathe in the country air, find the solace and comfort in the form of Kit the gentle giant, understand via Johnny what it means to have a friend. He needed to learn from Wade & Eliza partnership, that you can be a tough leader and work hard but make room in your life for the love of your life. He needed to find the strength within himself to repair what was broken by voicing his most sacred secretes. Garrison Beckett needed space and permission to grow.
Now this doesn’t mean I have forgiven him completely for his actions but I appreciate and accept his apology nonetheless; 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝑔𝓇𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁𝓁𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓌𝒶𝓈 𝓉𝑜𝓅 𝓉𝒾𝑒𝓇. The man who you first meet in His Greatest Muse is not the man you greets you at the end of Catching Sparks.
As for Poppy….well I don’t call her Queen Poppy for nothing. Poppy is a proud business owner of a pole fitness studio, she is a sex positive, plus size goddess who loves hard. She is authentically, 𝒷𝑒𝒶𝓊𝓉𝒾𝒻𝓊𝓁𝓁𝓎 𝒷𝑜𝓁𝒹 and unapologetically herself. Poppy is the perfect person to bring Garrison to his knees and love him for every part of himself with every part of her being. Poppy deserves the love that Garrison has for her. It’s rare for a character to make me feel so seen.
Together these two have some much instantaneous passion and its no wonder that this is Hannah’s spiciest book to date. These two cannot keep their hands off each other as they battle for dominance!!
Hannah; respectfully, you’re in a time out until further notice for making me feel things for Garrison. I loved Strung Along but Catching Sparks tops it for me. There was something so special about how Hannah has written this story and portrayed her characters. You will find yourself wanting to join them for a drink and develop your own kind of friendship with them.
