About this listen
An Astra Militarum Novel
When the Imperial shrine world of Kathur is blighted by Chaos, the brave Guardsmen of Cadia are sent to reclaim it. Yet, they cannot imagine what lies ahead...
Listen to it because....
Aaron Dembski-Bowden's first novel, Cadian Blood is a Black Library classic, pitting a force of plucky Guardsmen from Cadia against a zombie apocalypse.
The story:
When the Imperial shrine world of Kathur is blighted by Chaos, the brave Guardsmen of Cadia are sent to reclaim it. The plague of Nurgle has set in deeply on the planet, forcing the Cadians into battle with an innumerable legion of the infected. In the midst of battle, Captain Parmenion Thade is thrust into an unlikely commanding role. Yet he cannot imagine what lies ahead on Kathur, and just how important it will be to ensure victory there.

A solid 40k tale
ADB comes through as usual in a short but solid book for 40k, my one glaring issue is that I really would have preferred actual zombie combat over renegades and cultists

ADB delivers.
Another excellent entry into the Cadian record, as well as into ADB Black Library record. Good narration brought the story to life.

Marmite
Meaning that you will either enjoy this book or dislike it and I fall into the really enjoyed it camp, it’s got a bit of every thing in heretics, chaos marines, loyalist marines and imperial guard with a commissar and my personal favourite a mechanicum attack dog

Brilliant
An absolute pleasure to listen to. The action scenes were brilliantly written and compelling to listen to. The scale of the story and the implications of the Cadians mission is a constant build of tension and intrigue that has a satisfying conclusion.
highly recommend.

typhos has a moment
it was enjoyable. set between when Katie has been destroyed and invaded and the Great rift has been opened. Great to see typhus and the terminus X getting a little bit of love. mainly based on Acadian shock troop company mechanized with an inquisitor and then a buffoon for a planetary leader. I just thought that it was a little bit ott and not really one of Aaron's best but still good. not to be a spoiler but a one point a Canadian captain cuts a hellbrite Dreadnought to death with a human-sized chainsaw. couple of the accents were really cool. Welsh dude Scottish guy posh bloke little bit Bernard Cornwall.

Bang, you're straight into the action!
No need for a build up, no messing about! That's right ladies and gents, this is pure action, action, action! Black library classic? yeeeeaaaah, 100%
Brilliantly gory. Like an 80's zombie film classic.
ADB always has a thread of humour that runs though his tails. Love it.
Great book if you want war, guts and glory.
Is it worth the credit? Yes. Get stuck in and smash some Heretics!

NOT BLACK LEGION
Not book 3 of Black Legion but still sick af to hear Typhus and the Raven Guard go at it. Cadian troops also slay cultists by the 1000s
