A Warhammer 40,000 Audiobook

The galactic core is beset by warp storms of a fury the Leagues of Votann have not seen for ten millennia. With both the Imperium of Man and the powers of the warp encroaching further and further onto the Kin’s territories, war reigns supreme amongst the coreward stars.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Hear what happens when a Hernkyn Prospect leader and her companions are plunged into a venture beyond their wildest expectations, and find themselves set against an ancient, deadly foe guarding a mysterious but magnificent prize.

THE STORY

Myrtun Dammergot, leader for the Kindred of the Eternal Starforge, is in her element, exploiting the unending conflict and living a life of adventure, without the unwanted burden of responsibility.

But when a messenger from her Kindred’s Hold ship brings news that upends everything she knows, responsibility, challenges, and opportunity come knocking.

Good Story, bland narrator

I hate to say it but this narrator just doesn't fit for a novel about what are essentially space dwarfs. Comes across dull, bland and uninterested in what she is reading, shame as story seems very engaging.

It was boring.

Feels like it was written 6 years ago when girl bossing was all the rage.

1st book for LOV

10/10 and a great new insight into the 40k world. GW has a great opportunity here to add a whole new perspective through their newest addition to the lore

Good story with convoluted B plot that added little to the story

I enjoyed learning about the votan culture but Leckie is a terrible character that shouldn't have been in it and the narrator was a little flat

Okay First book but a bit bland.

Felt like the narrator didn't fit the characters and very samey most way through out, also thought the Londoner accent didn't fit the characters.
Writing: It felt like several hours in before anything happened with very little pause to differentiate a change in location or time.

I just hope it goes better than Path of The Eldar in the future.

Bad choice of Narrator.

Unfortunately everything about this story was overshadowed buy the narrator. She couldn't make the male characters masculine enough and the feel of grim dark was lost as she couldn't create the atmosphere I love. If I had listened to the excerpt I would have realised and wouldnt have wasted a credit on it. Truly disappointed as I will have to buy a hard copy just to enjoy the story. Mistake made and I will now ALWAYS LISTEN TO THE EXAMPLES!

A good and interesting story for a 1st book

for a 1st book it's pretty good and gives some interesting titbits into the dynamic of their roles and differences compared to other factions. The only lacking part is the narrator there not terrible but they don't quite fit, I had a look to see it's theur first Warhammer book so it might just be the difference but not terrible.

Great Book

One of the very first pieces of literature I've heard on the League Of Votann. Very impressed and excited to see what more there is. The only negative thing I can say is that it ended! Great narration as well by the reader
