About this listen
Jory Harcourt doesn't have to go looking for trouble. Wherever he goes, it seems to find him - particularly when his partner, Sam Kage, is working undercover on a federal task force.
After the recession forces him to close his business, Jory goes to work as a matchmaker and event planner. From there, it's only a matter of time before his big mouth and up-front attitude make him the rope in a tug-of-war between a trust-fund baby and a drug-smuggling criminal. Then, as if that situation weren't delicate enough, Jory's undercover lover shows up working for the smuggler.
Between the men who want him and the men who just want him dead, Chicago is getting a little crowded for Jory, so on the advice of his brother, his boyfriend, and the FBI task force, he heads for Hawaii...where a serious accident threatens his quality of life. Can Sam and Jory keep the faith and prove that their relationship really is bulletproof?

More Jory and Sam!
Great to hear more about Jory and Sam, rated among my top five fave couples.
Why change narrator? After I slowed narration down to three-quarters it was fine, and by end I had adapted to new narrator.
Hate the music between chapters, just get rid of it. Don't need to tell me title of book every chapter.
So my complaints are about narration, but loved the book, and will listen again, but must slow it down.

Amazing Follow Up Story
This is a continuation from Matter of Time and if you love Jory and Sam you'll love this book as well.
As always Jory manages to find himself in trouble and with Sam undercover for a mission things only escalate.Mary Calmes once more wrote a great and quick passed story with a lot of sidelines so that the reader won't be bored to read all through it only about the main two characters. It truly is a gift of Mary Calmes to manage to make the reader anticipate the encounters between the two protagonists and she always delivers in the most hot fashion!
Now as far as the audiobook goes Jeff Gelder delivers a great Jory, but I prefer Paul Morey's Sam. It's annoying to have in every chapter the reminder of the book's title like you can ever forget but oh well. This reading also way better than the he did in Trusted Bond, more paced and with more diversity in voices. So really not to much to be dissatisfied over

Oh dear :( not as good bring back Paul Morey!
I was looking forward to the third volume with more tales of Sam and Jory but this volume is not as good as the first two - a great sadness to me!
Having spent around 20 hours with Paul Morey's characterisation in the first two volumes the change of reader is to say the least bizarre and somewhat disappointing. There is nothing wrong with Jeff Gelder's reading it's just not Paul Morey.
I suspect the change of narrator has influenced my enjoyment to some degree.

Enjoyable sequel but spoilt by poor narration.
I loved the previous book " A matter of time" and fell completely in love with all the characters. The audio book was so well narrated by Paul Morey it was easy to relax and fall into the story, this book however is for me, a very different experience, the story is still good but I thought the narration by Jeff Gelder rushed, robotic and monotone and it spoilt the whole book. He has a totally different style of narration and and a very limited vocal range making it hard work to listen and connect with the story, I felt alienated from much loved characters. Sean Crisden would have been a better replacement as the have a similar tone and style.
