About this listen
Kasym brings the long-bladed knife up so Chloe can see the orange glow of the passing streetlamps reflected in the polished steel. The move works. It usually does. She becomes completely still. Sarah, Chloe's mother, stares open-mouthed at the blade. It has a very narrow tip and glints viciously along its stone-whetted edge.
So begins the kidnapping that plunges Gabriel Wolfe into a search and rescue mission in the Baltic state of Estonia. But there is more at stake than the lives of two British tourists. Someone is tinkering with a performance-enhancing drug designed to help British fighter pilots exploit the potential of the Typhoon fighter.
Caught between Russian mafia bosses and Chechen terrorists, Gabriel has to find the hostages before the crowds at the Farnborough Airshow witness a jet fighter flown into the ground at 900 mph by its hallucinating pilot.
The mission calls for street-fighting skills, military strategy and a stint undercover as a doorman for Jonny Rocketz, a sleazy bar in Talinn's red light district. Gabriel is up for the challenge, but he's still carrying guilt for leaving a comrade's body behind in his last, disastrous mission for the SAS. Will it overwhelm him just when he needs to be at his most focused?
This is the second full-length outing for Gabriel Wolfe, former SAS soldier and freelance security consultant. If you like your action heroes to have an intriguing back story alongside their military chops, he's the man for you.

Great story well read
A great action packed story, brilliantly narrated by Gethyn Edwards. Really want to listen to the next book in the series, but after listening to the sample and reading reviews of terrible narration with a speech impediment, don’t think I’ll bother. Might just skip to book 5

A great story told well
Another great Gabriel Wolfe story where we get to know him better as well as following the twists and turns of his latest mission. The narration is excellent and really adds to the enjoyment.

Great action thriller
Fabulous book. Fast paced, great story line and thrilling end. Perfect for a long drive on audio. I was captivated and Gabriel Wolfe is firmly now a favourite action hero of mine.

Excellent.
There are so many books written along similar lines to this one, that you begin to search for that something, that makes this one stand out.
I was not disappointed. Although this book is written in a similar theme, genre, it doesn't disappoint.
The characters are well written and described. The places given colour and substance. The narration is almost perfect with a wonderful performance by the narrator. His rich times lending themselves to the character beautifully. Equally when he speaks the part of another character he is brilliant.
The down side is in production i think? The narration will suddenly speed up, as if I've changed the speed of delivery, then resort back again. A bit annoying but you may not notice.
Anyway, but the book and the Audible link. You won't regret it.
