About this listen
What dreams may come ...
On the idyllic Swedish island of Gotland, another teenager is found dead. This makes 22 suicides in 17 months. Some knew each other, others didn't. There are no notes. No explanations. No reasons. Each new death rocks the island to its core, and everyone holds their breath for the next to be found ...
With the media ordered not to report on it, the police baffled, and the islanders looking desperately for someone, or something, to blame ... chaos is imminent.
Among the horror, a father whose daughter is missing searches frantically for answers. A journalism student chases the truth at all costs as fear and persecution grip her university. And a notorious detective is dragged out of exile to ask questions the police can't. Or won't ...
As terror takes root in every home and mind, and the death toll continues to rise, only one thing links the victims: a black heart, etched into their skin. What does it mean? And will it be enough to save the island before it tears itself apart?

I absolutely loved this latest Jamie story, I couldn’t stop listening. Sofia Engstrand brings Jamie to life, she’s such a good narrator. Thank you Morgan Greene.

Another Cracker
I’ve listened to all of the Jamie Johansson series and each one doesn’t fail to delight. The narration is superb and the plots thick and fast, can’t wait for the next one!

Nail biting
I don’t know what to say. Leaving the ending this way was excruciating. Having listened to it constantly I finished it in one day and am now at a loss to understand how this will end. The storyline is getting more and more gripping and want to know when the next one will be

Different but still good!
The author adopted a different style in this one and also focusses much more on relationships than in earlier books. I confess I prefer the original style but this still made for a cracking story. Narration again excellent too.

Why so much foul language ?
The use of so much foul language is so unnecessary and is more so when it is used by female characters and is spoken by a female narrator , it is so inelegant and completely offensive when it invades my living space . Quite how this sort of writing is expected to appeal to the majority of listeners is beyond belief , when , the absence of such language is offensive to nobody and would therefore appeal to every listener and offend no one , this has been a waste of a credit and also will lead to the failure of my purchasing any other books by this author making it a commercial mistake as far as I am concerned .

Not as good as previous.
Not as good as previous books by Greene. Too much on characters feelings, think the crime story was weak.
