About this listen

Museum curator Harrison Kirkpatrick has been fascinated by the American Revolution since childhood, but never in his wildest dreams did he ever imagine falling in love from afar with a soldier who fought for America's freedom. Through a series of events too wild to be believed, Harrison is thrown back in time to 1775, mere days before the Battle of Bunker Hill, finding himself at the business end of a musket held by the very man he has been pining for.

Massachusetts Militiaman Gannon Chalmers does not know what to make of the strange man he finds wandering around Bunker Hill days before his unit is to engage the British Redcoats. Is this man friend or foe? What he does know is that there is an undeniable attraction growing between them that he must resist at all costs.

As the battle draws closer, so do Gannon and Harrison. Can they deny the passion threatening to explode between them like a powder keg? Or will Gannon's abundance of caution keep him from giving in to the one man who could lay claim to his heart?

On the brink of a war that will change the history of the world, the pair must decide what price they are willing to pay for freedom, and how much they are willing to sacrifice for love.

True love, truly timeless :)

This is a lovely story of love across time.
Harrison, a historian, curates a colonial war museum. He finds himself interested in a battle and the men that fought in it, particularly one man, Gannon. When Harrison wishes he could meet Gannon, he finds himself transported back to 1775.
Knowing that there is an expiration date for any type of relationship, but it doesn't stop the men from falling in love.
The twist at the end is both a bit of a surprise and heartwarming ( I may have had a tear in my eye ...). Really enjoyed it.

Stephen Dexter is new to me. He does a really good job with the characters, especially the slight British accent for Gannon. This is a great way to enjoy the spinoff as a very good standalone story.

This was an excellent addition to this series.
Great narration, and the story had me hooked from the beginning.

Wonderful, emotional story

WOW! Ten+ stars for this wonderful story. It's an impossible tale about love between a modern-day Revolutionary War museum curator and the almost unknown soldier he researches and comes to idolize. When the curator wishes for just a few minutes with his historical love, he finds himself in 1775 during the War. How they meet, get to know each other, both really fall in love, and then face separation makes for a sweet, emotional love story. Tennyson and Ronan make a cameo at the end, and the tears flowed a little, but the ending was absolutely beautiful. I will definitely listen to this one again! It was a nice break from the suspense and murder investigations in Ms. Pine's other Cold Case stories.

The narration was great. I loved the accents. The diction was clear and the tone and emotion were perfect.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this honest review.

fabulously different spin off

This time traveling love story is so exciting, I was constantly surprised by the twists and turns. The main characters are superbly drawn and the plot is intricate and well researched. The narration is also perfect, the accents and the emotions are everything I could have asked for. I hope that we see these characters again within the CCP universe.

Beyond Amazing!!!!!

I can’t give this book enough praise! I can’t believe I was going to skip it!! Pandora writes a passionate love tale that will capture your heart, break it, and put it back together again!

This story follows Museum/Historian Harrison and his passion for the American Revolution. From the start of this novella, we are given a view into Harrison’s life, enthusiasm, and quirks. Pandora entrances us with Harrison’s deep passion for history and his (secret) crush on the mysterious (250 years dead) Militiaman, Gannon Chalmers. As Harrison works to improve the current Bunker Hill, something magical happens and he is transported back to meet his crush on the very hill he was striving to preserve.

Once together, their chemistry is instant and we are taken on a journey of forbidden and instant love, that is so passionate, wonderful, and heartbreaking when they are once again torn apart! I felt everything Harrison felt, I admit I totally ugly cried and felt every word Pandora wrote! This love transcended the centuries and thankfully Pandora gives us a little closure and happy different but still wonderful happy ending with a new love and a little help from Tennyson.

I loved this story and can’t recommend this story enough!!

(P.s. I would consider this a standalone as you don’t need to have read about Tennyson to read this book. It’ll show you the talent that is Pandora!)

Thanks for reading!

Great spin-off

I don't usually read/novella's or short stories, as I like something longer to get my teeth into, but I have been so impressed with all the books by Pandora Pine I just couldn't miss out on this one and I'm glad I didn't.
It was romantic and packed full of historical details, full of drama and emotion.
All the other Cold Case Psychic audiobooks have been narrated by Michael Pauley but this one was narrated by Stephen Dexter, I'm not sure why but he did a great job, especially during the emotional dialogue.

Great spin off story, well narrated

I absolutely love the Cold Case Psychic series from Pandora Pine and this new spin off series that she's created introduces us to a lot more characters in that universe.
We meet Harrison, curator at the local museum, who has an unusual crush on a man who died long ago on the battlefield. A little trip back in time though, brings him face to face with Gannon. Their whirlwind relationship flows really well and the author has written the time period really well with wording, attire and thoughts appropriate for that age. I love that we get both men's POV as it gives us a lot more insight into what both men are thinking and feeling throughout the story.
This is the first time I've heard narration from Stephen Dexter. He does well in giving voices to different characters and emotions to situations. One thing that made me chuckle was the English voice to one of Harrison's assistants. As someone from England it made me think of old world London and brought a smile every time I heard it but overall, Stephen has done a great job in bringing this story to life and I look forward to the next spin off novella.

Time travelling spinoff from an amazing series.

So I love the Cold Case Psychics series and I fully expected to love this, even though I’m not normally a time travelling fan. However the attention to detail for history really made this book for me. I really loved how Harrison knew the history and has such a great love for it but knew what the future held.
This is the first narration I’ve heard from Stephen Dexter and I definitely enjoyed his work - believable characters and not monotonous at all.

So good

A museum curator with a crush on a civil war veteran, what happens when he time travels back and ends up face to musket with him?? This novella explains all.
Oh My God was I in for a treat with this audible file, I loved this book in fact it was my first Pandora Pine and I haven’t looked back.
This book takes you on an emotional journey that has you at the heights of passion, to the depths of loss and fear with a whole range of feelings in between.
The attention to detail and to the history really comes through, so accurately it shows the level of dedication this author puts into her craft. So thank you Stephen Dexter for doing it so well.
