About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
AUREN'S STORY ISN'T OVER YET.
SHE WILL FLY. SHE WILL SOAR.
One king caged my body.
Another has caged my mind.
War has broken out between Annwyn and Orea, though that’s not the only battle being waged.
There’s a fight inside me, and it’s one I’m determined to win, no matter how much they try to strip me down and hollow me out.
Yet they’ve forgotten one thing. The ancient magic of the pair bond. One can never truly be lost when two souls are already bound.
Because Slade and I? We are connected by more than just fated magic, and we will always find each other.
In any life.
The fae king is trying to destroy me. My heritage. My memory. But what he hasn’t realized is this: gold bends, but stone breaks.
And a Goldfinch does not fall.
It flies.

Love the story, hate the narrator
The female narrator did not at all suit Aurens personality, and I really miss the last narrator who read all the previous books. It was a shame to switch narrators on the last book, and it bothered me the throughout whole book.

Overall a good story
Throughout the whole series I had moment were I wished it would just end, sometimes I felt as though the story was dragging but I’m so glad I finished it. Who doesn’t love a happy ending!

All loose ends tied, almost.
This book was really great in some parts and a little slower in others. Perhaps not as good as other books in the series and some rather quick transitions, especially towards the end.
It took me a while to get into the narrator in the first books, but got used to it. In this, Auren and Emonie were basically the same character/voice and Queen Malina was read in such a way that her arc did not pull me in at all. The voice is so shrieking it was almost to the point that I wanted to skip her chapters. That was a shame as they were important but I couldn’t wait for them to finish.
I’d like to have known what happened to Ryatt in the end, as he was a really deserving character and I felt he didn’t get an ending the same as the others. There were inferences but not enough.
A good book but the series as a whole was better.

So beautifully written.
A really great story, with a complete ending. (The last 4 hours, could have easily been 1!) I love these characters, the world building, the relationships. It's an epic story even just in this book. I'm a huge fan of the series. Love it!

Loved this series
I loved all the characters and the story, the only negative this is I didn’t like the main characters voice, when the lady does it.

What a rollercoaster
Loved every minute of this book and the series. Such great character growth. And well done to Bella Stanby and Owen Hall from bringing the various characters to life so effectively and giving a heart filled performance!

l9ved the whole series
Great series, superb world creating! Also, Owen's voice is really nice. Hope he will narrate more books in the future and perhaps we could connect the voice to a face?
