About this listen
Random House presents the audiobook edition of If I Die Before I Wake by Emily Koch, read by Finlay Robertson.
How do you solve your own murder?
Everyone believes Alex is in a coma, unlikely to ever wake up. As his family debate withdrawing life support, and his friends talk about how his girlfriend Bea needs to move on, he can only listen.
But Alex soon begins to suspect that the accident that put him here wasn't really an accident. Even worse, the perpetrator is still out there, and Alex is not the only one in danger.
As he goes over a series of clues from his past, Alex must use his remaining senses to solve the mystery of who tried to kill him, and try to protect those he loves, before they decide to let him go.
A stunning edge-of-your-seat debut novel with an unforgettable narrator.

Lovely story and really enjoyable
Very interesting book which delves into the mind of a person who is unresponsive in hospital. As family and friends discuss his treatment its Unknown to everyone that can hear every single word. Highly recommended

Fascinating Read that prompts discussion
This is an ideal book for any book club discussion as the story climbs and grips you, page by page.
The central situation is unusual and is crafted with great style and reflects the obvious research that the author has conducted.
I’m confident that we’re going to hear a great deal more about Emily Koch and read a lot more of her stories.

Brilliant
Clever and absorbing, sharply portrayed through the observations and memories of young rock climber, Alex Jackson, who’s in a prolonged coma following a near fatal fall.
Emily Koch’s attention to detail threads through the narrative like lightning as Alex attempts to piece together what happened to him that fateful day, while wishing his visitors or medical team would notice his brain is still alive - making the tension for the reader almost unbearable.
Finlay Robertson narrates the novel to perfection, bringing the characters’ voices and personalities to the drama effortlessly.

Unusual gripping story
Totally enthralling and extremely well narrated. Alex’s descriptions of what it must be like to be trapped inside your body with no way to communicate is very believable and will live with me for a long time.
A clever story line- although agree with a previous reviewer that end is a bit under whelming (albeit believable)

Amazing!!!
I’m only 12, and I’m not really into these types of book but this, this is amazing!!!!! Best book ever!! Written to perfection as though I can picture the characters in-front of me and I can watch the story unfold in-front of my eyes!!

Slow going
Very slow moving. I sometimes battled to hear the narrator. An anti-climatic ending. Very good story line which I feel.the author did not use to her full advantage.

gripping
this book is from the point of view of Alex who is locked in. I think it works very well as an audio book as you feel like you are in that room with him the whole way through. a good listen
