In a small Cotswold country town, Beth, Lindy, and Rachel are looking for new beginnings. So they set up in business, organising stylish and perfectly affordable vintage weddings. Soon they are busy arranging other people's big days.

Likeable story ruined by narration.
Would you listen to A Vintage Wedding again? Why?
No. There is little depth in it. On to the next.
What other book might you compare A Vintage Wedding to, and why?
Nearly all Katie Fforde's books are written on similar lines. Young woman finds herself living in village, a bit down at luck. She usually finds some way to discover or practise her creative or entrepreneurial skills. She meets a man and after a little bit of conflict, she ends up with him. In this book, we have 3 women for the price of one. It's a winning formula; I've read nearly all of them.
What three words best describe Jilly Bond’s performance?
Ruined the book (almost).
Any additional comments?
Jilly Bond is a competent and prolific narrator. But she's wrong for chicklit. She's way too chirpy overall, and in contrast makes the male love-interests sound so unappealing (oafish and lumpen). I think she just doesn't engage with the feel of the story. Publishers clearly disagree. She's done a few Katie Ffordes. I've noticed a few Veronica Henrys coming up in my library which I suspect she's spoiled, too.

Ok book... awful narrator
The story was lovely, fluffy and easy going. I enjoyed it well enough. The Narrator however sounded SOOOOOOOO OLD!! I've heard her before in another book and struggled with her voice as a 41 year old as she sounds like her 50's, but in this book she's 2 girls in her early 20's and one in her mid 30's and it REALLY does not work at all!! I struggled a lot to set that aside and enjoy the writing... which in itself was ok.

Brilliant story as always by Katie Fforde. I didn't want to turn it off at all. I want to here more though!

Excessively Chiccy-Litty
The author is very good at designing & telling a story. I feel if she wrote a more serious type of subject matter it would be worth reading. This story though is just so incredibly sugar coated goo-type material that it was hard to swallow. For example The kind Uncle in real life would be more likely to be a groomer of single mothers & their youngsters. At least one thing would go wrong in 1 of the characters lives(& stay wrong). The poor grandmothers are treated like unpaid, taken for granted slaves. Good writer; talents wasted on this unrealistic story.

Agoodhappy listen!
A really well read story - a bit obvious ending but enjoyable. I listened whilst I did the ironing and it was a treat. I will definitely look for more by this author.

Ok, a little predictable
A Vintage Wedding, was ok, a little predictable. Nice, sweet, maybe a little sickly in parts, and repetition of the obvious.

A Vintage Wedding
A very enjoyable read. I found it light hearted and easy listening. The narrator is particularly good, so many have very monotone voices.

Good enough story marred by irritating narration
Enjoyed the story, but totally agree with Charlotte's review - the narration was terrible. It was so irritating that the only thing that kept me going was the story - in some places very humorous, altogether a very light hearted romantic romp.
