It's getting stuck in a whiny loop.

There's a somewhat interesting story developing and its again somewhat better than the first. For the improvements though, it has gained some larger flaws, specifically in the spiralling looping whining and putting the cart before the horse, then explaining the horse.

It's a meh series that's remaining meh.
