About this listen
A desire for status has brought Ondry and Liam to a human world to trade, but dealing with humans has brought up all the old pain in Liam's heart. Even though Ondry would do anything to protect his beloved palteia, he doesn't know how to protect Liam from himself. Worse, Ondry isn't sure how to shield Liam from the shifting politics on the Rownt ship where the Calti Grandmothers are nothing like the ones they left behind on the planet.
With everything in their lives changing, Ondry and Liam have only each other. If Ondry can't find a way to defend Liam from the ghosts of the past and overcome the impossibly short life span of a human, their small family might be over long before either of them is ready to let go. Ondry has always been a dominant and possessive Rownt, and with Liam in danger, those traits are necessary as he challenges the world to protect his lover.
Contains mature themes.

Keeps Getting Better!
Now an established MM couple, Liam and Ondry are still as fun, sweet, sexy and as hot to read about. Feel Ondry’s smug satisfaction at knowing what Liam needs to be happy and content! Applaud when Liam anticipates what his Dom needs in trading or emboldens Ondry to stand before the Grandmothers! These men know exactly who they are, warts and all, and what they want, each other. 💜
There is still so much emotional depth to mine, physical sensuality to experience and psychological truth told in an affecting way. True, the pace of this story is languid, it is dialogue heavy, and it lacks a villain to create urgency. However, Ms Gala’s writing remains insightful, intelligent and powerful. There remains tender observations on love, romance, the joy of a mate and my personal favourite, k.i.s.s.i.n.g that is sweetly taught and enthusiastically explored!
🎧 Mr Solo’s performance shows that he understands the story the author is selling and he brings all his narrating skills to emote perfectly – I bought it. I know I said it for Book 1 and Book 2 and l say it again for Book 3 - it is yet another gratifying installment in the Claimings Series!

I love this series!
I’ve enjoyed this thought-provoking series more and more with each book. In this third book, Liam and Ondry join a Rownt trade delegation tasked with trading with the Earth military. Liam learns he may have given the ruling Rownt Grandmothers a dangerously unflattering perception of humans. Liam and Ondry’s interspecies relationship remains important but the story provides further context about its importance and its impact on the geopolitical spacescape. It’s a lovely mix of the personal and the political! Lyn Gala has not only created a tender romantic couple, she’s also crafted a stunningly imaginative universe. 🎧 John Solo not only has distinct voices for the humans and Ondry, but he also has a Rownt Grandmother voice which quivers with age - brilliant!

Excellent
Interesting interactions with humans, and status. Sometimes dramatic. Continues to flesh out the worldbuilding in interesting ways. It also circled back to something that was brought up and then not adressed in the first book, and seems to add (very minor) retcons at times.

So dull
Honestly I just cannot understand all the good reviews for this book. Absolutely nothing happened we just got a lot of dry dealings about the difference between human language and alien. I regularly drifted off. The series started out ok but has really lost its way.
