Sadly too drawn out with irritating characters and narration
I was sadly disappointed by this book which I started with much enthusiasm.
The story could have been a third shorter and Jude and her family had an irritatingly over inflated sense of their own charm and importance when out staying their welcome at Starborough Hall.
The narration was good although the voices of the children and Jude really began to grate.
Sadly didn't enjoy it and didn't care whether the mystery was solved or what happened to the characters.

Enjoyed very much
This is the 1st of Rachel Hores books that I've read (in this case heard) and I will definitely look for others, an intriguing story that I thoroughly enjoyed

Worth getting into
I found this really hard to get into at first-it chopped and changed settings which at times could be hard to follow if not fully concentrating. I also found it dragged on until I got to know the characters well. But once I did it was gripping and well worth sticking with. A lovely ending. The narrator's Norfolk accent put on for Gran was gearing at times, but generally well narrated.

Great read!
First time I read this author and really enjoyed the story. It was quite intriging, well written and well narrated. I found it difficult to put down and will certainly look for other books by Rachel Hore. Can highly recommend!

Switching between times - keep up, keep up!
I’m sorry to say that this book ended “happily ever after”, rather than being rather more open-ended. I certainly learned a lot of facts about early astronomy and how things changed when a new planet was discovered. There was also a big theme of stars (small, gold, real) throughout the whole book. Beautifully narrated, with careful pronunciation throughout. A gentle and relatively easy read, but don’t lose concentration when the gypsy child appears, and perhaps she is a factor in the past which may be reorganising people’s dreams.

What an enjoyable story!
This is Rachel Hore at her best! This story conjuréd up such wonderful characters, the story had such twists and turns and depths like an emotional roller coaster. I thought we were to be left with loose ends towards the end but not to be. I particularly enjoy books that have a historical element and this did not disappoint as the story involved two eras and the subject matter kept me enthralled to the end. I was very sad when this ended and felt somewhat bereft as I’d become so involved with the characters. Thought Jenny Bond did a fab job of narrating,
