Summary
Destiny or desire: where does your allegiance lie?
I am told my union to the crowned prince will determine the fate of the kingdom, but it isn’t my betrothed who haunts my dreams. It’s the half-breed prince who stands at his side.
He is darkness and sin, and when he whispers promises of wickedness in my ear, I crave a man who I can’t have. Every thought I have is treasonous. The way my hands ache to touch him deceitful. Even my dreams make me a traitor to the kingdom I am sworn to protect.
But when the kingdom is attacked, I am forced to make choices I’m not prepared for. Our lies and deception are entangled in the shadows and stars, and as they unravel so shall my fate. Betray a kingdom or betray my heart.
A Kingdom of Stars and Shadows is book one in the Stars and Shadows series, and it ends in a cliffhanger.

the depth of the description given to each scene
the voice acting could have more lines as it lacked to some scenes and acting them out

A Steamy, Betrayal Filled Story!🔥❤️💥
A Kingdom of Stars and Shadows: Stars and Shadows, Book 1

I really enjoyed both narrators and the entire audiobook. They played off of each other extremely well. It really heightened the tension.👏
I enjoyed this fantasy story. It pits fae and vampyre against each other with humans stuck between them. A human holds the power of the 'starblessed', and she's been promised to the fae Prince almost since birth.😳
Adara loathes that her life has been chosen for her. She's scared of what to come of her and how the fae Prince will feed from her!🩸
There are a lot of twists and turns and backstabbing betrayals in this one. I'm looking forward to book 2.

Little bit of everything.
Definitely not a slow burn and it’s definitely spicy. There’s a good story beneath as well.
The female narrator was great, however, the guy sounded like a storm trooper and very robotic- didn’t enjoy his voice at all.
Not sure if I’d go for the 2nd book.

I love it I love it I love it!!!!
𝔸 𝕂𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕕𝕠𝕞 𝕠𝕗 𝕊𝕥𝕒𝕣𝕤 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕊𝕙𝕒𝕕𝕠𝕨𝕤 - ℍ𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕪 ℝ𝕖𝕟𝕖𝕖
I started reading fantasy books (something that was new to me) and found myself searching for my next book.
I saw that Holly Renee was publishing this book and I marked it as my next book.
It took me only 2 days to finish this amazing book and I am here to share my experience.
The book opens on Adara's last day of freedom, she decides to go out into the forest to watch the army of the Citlali Kingdom who are going to take her from her home the next morning.
It was easy to love the character of Adara, she doesn't cry for her fate, not even a tear falls from her eyes! She looks at the soldiers of the kingdom with eyes full of rage and enters the chariot which takes her to her new life.
Adara is blessed (or cursed, depending on who you ask) and she is called 'Starblessed', while the rest of the people of the kingdom are divided into starless, magic people, humans and more.
The prince who is destined to be king needs the power of the signs that adorn her body (from which he will draw energy that will merge with his powers) in order to protect the kingdom.
A war between the Citlali Kingdom and the Kingdom of Blood, attacks and persecutions, the main mission is to protect the Starblessed, a captain who's also a bastard and a destined prince whose causes bad chills in the body, the war of logic and emotion, arranged marriages and this is only a small handful of what's waiting for you at this book😍
A kingdom of stars and shadows is so well built! Fascinating, suspenseful and mesmerizing. I found myself chasing page after page, Imagining that I am galloping on horseback into a dark forest running away from danger into the unknown.
Among the best fantasy books I read this year, I really enjoyed Holly Rene's writing in this book, she definitely surprised me in this book, completely different from her other 2 series that I read.
PS: I'm pretty sure Holly's trying to kill me with the suspenseful and hot descriptions in the book, gods... It's too hot!!
PS 2: I can't believe that it ends with that crazy cliffhanger, I NEED! to read the next book asap!! I want to know what happened to Adara!

an enjoyable experience
a relatively common premise, but written well and acted mostly as well. I enjoyed the book, and will read the others in the series, but it's nothing earth shattering. bareable cringe.

Obsessed
My first romantasy narrated in duet and I loved it. The narrators are some of my favourites and they did a great job portraying the characters.
And that cliffhanger?? I need to read the next book ASAP.

The same fea cookie cutter story.
Nothing new. Nothing unique. It's another fea story that adds nothing. I wish the world building was better. It's incredibly minimal.

All smut and no story
If you’re looking for pure smut, then you’ve found a gem. Just don’t expect any discernible story or character development because there is absolutely nothing there!
