About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Delve into the history of the sinister Count Dooku in this audio original set in a galaxy far, far away....
Darth Tyranus. Count of Serenno. Leader of the Separatists. A red saber, unsheathed in the dark. But who was he, before he became the right hand of the Sith? As Dooku courts a new apprentice, the hidden truth of the Sith Lord's past begins to come to light.
Dooku's life began as one of privilege-born within the stony walls of his family's estate, orbited by the Funeral Moon where the bones of his ancestors lie interred. But soon his Jedi abilities are recognized and he is taken from his home to be trained in the ways of the Force by the legendary Master Yoda.
As he hones his power, Dooku rises through the ranks, befriending fellow Jedi Sifo-Dyas and taking a padawan of his own, the promising Qui-Gon Jinn-and tries to forget the life that he once led. But he finds himself drawn by a strange fascination with the Jedi Master Lene Kostana, and the mission she undertakes for the Order: finding and studying ancient relics of the Sith, in preparation for the eventual return of the deadliest enemies the Jedi have ever faced.
Caught between the world of the Jedi, the ancient responsibilities of his lost home, and the alluring power of the relics, Dooku struggles to stay in the light-even as the darkness begins to fall.

Superb audio drama
One of the best Star Wars audio dramas yet! A fascinating backstory to both Dooku and Asajj. The full cast is fantastic. I really hope Lucasfilm commission more of these full cast dramas.

Stick with it
I really struggled to stay interested at the beginning. But after the 1st hour I was hooked. Its a great insight into a character that deserved more screen time in the movies.

My pros and cons
What I liked:
It was cool to hear about Dooku and Ventresses experiences growing up and before we meet them in Star Wars ep. 2 and The Clone Wars tv show
What I didn't like:
I liked the book but I wasn't a big fan of how the story was told through holocoms and Ventresses narration as opposed to it being told as it happens.
The other thing I didn't like was that the voice actor for Count Dooku sohnded nothing like him whereas in the Plagueis book he sounded just like him. No discredit to the voice actor but his voice just wasn't suited.

A great listen!
An enjoyable Star Wars story and unique with its full voice cast. A nice companion piece to Master and Apprentice as well.
Definitely adds some depth to a character that we see tragically little of in the movies.

Superbly written, flawlessly delivered, a must for star wars fans, making Dooku one of the most interesting and complex characters in the star wars universe.

A fine addition to the Star Wars canon
Loved it! A fine addition to the Star Wars canon. Hopefully this will be the first of many audio dramas.

Great read.
Expands Dooku's story well and explains how and why he left the Jedi and became Count of his homeworld.

Excellent performance.
Another strong entry into Disney's new Star Wars canon. This audio play is as strong as the best episodes of The Clone Wars and gives insight into the fall of Count Dooku and his relationship with Asajj Ventress.
It also covers briefly Dooku's relationship with fellow Jedi Sifo Dyas, though still doesn't fully account for his joining the Sith or the creation of the Clone Army. Hopefully they will make a sequel book or companion piece to cover those elements in deeper detail, but as it is this is one of my favourite adventures.

the dooku story I've been waiting for
I've never heared a audio drama before but dooku Jedi lost opened my eats.
the story is what I always wanted for to be told , the story of dooku leaving the council
becoming the sith.
though some things have been left (I imagine for future material) the core aspects of what was needed is here
great cast , though some awakard moments the more grandiose parts stir me towards my positive review.
