Summary
Random House presents the audiobook edition of Written from the Heart by Trisha Ashley, read by Rachel Atkins.
Previously published in 2008 as Happy Endings.
The witty, weird and wonderful abound in this early romantic comedy by Sunday Times best-selling author Trisha Ashley.
Tina Devino makes more money teaching people to write than writing herself. A middling romance novelist who dreams of penning a best seller, she’s increasingly forced to compete with younger, blonder debut authors for her publisher and agent’s attention.
Feeling forgotten, Tina realises the only way up is to take her career and destiny in hand and build her own happy ending - which is perfect because, for a romance writer, Tina isn’t the most traditional of women.... Although she does see her long-term partner lover friend, Sergei, once a week, which is ‘quite enough, thank you very much’. But her uncomplicated love life might soon need some unravelling when a mysterious Tube Man, an unwelcome ex-husband and a shadowy figure in a butterfly mask waltz into the picture.
Only Tina can work through the drama and claim the life she’s always wanted...but will she succeed?
Hilariously warm, quirky and feel-good, Trisha Ashley's writing is perfect for fans of romantic comedies by Milly Johnson and Jill Mansell.

Weird story style for T Ashley
I really struggled to finish listening to this story .It felt like an experiment of all literature styles , except poetry . The narration was awful which didn't help.

Lost for words
I think Trisha Ashley might have been lost for words writing this book. It ends in the middle of the story.
I love her books and read several - a chick lit junkie - but this one failed to please.
The story of a writer is great, I love little letters to writers at the beginning of each chapter, the book is great to read (listen) but it just does not end.

Not the best...
This is my third audio book and I think this one proves you should listen to a sample of the reading. You are going to be spending a lot of hours listening to the person so you need to ensure you are going to get on! I found the actor and the story very whiny. It also has a lot silly accents for various characters. The story was not really about anything other than a whiny selfish middle age women. No ending. No journey. Think we only moved 6 months or so. I usually love Trisha Ashley books but this one was not for me.

As already stated not our "usual Trisha Ashley"
I always try to have an open mind about reviews when I want to choose a book especially when it is a writer that I would usually recommend.
I did think that there was too much background story about writers and it was a certain amount of misdirection in the story. As I read it. I thought it was going to go off in a certain way, even though it was hoping that the main characters would not end up unhappy. I really felt that the ancillary characters never had any flesh on their bones. Most of the Trisha Ashley books I have read have been absolutely fantastic with a really good story and really humourus, alas a lack not this one.
Back to the notes to see where the story lost it's way and it's meat,I think. I just don't think this is what I expected from the fabulous Trisha Ashley. I will still keep looking for her books, and hope she gets her mojo back.

Very disappointed
As a long time fan of Trisha Ashley I found this to be an extremely poor book. The story didn’t move along and could have been completed within the first 10 pages. I am also baffled by the hilarity which some reviews site mentioned and the humour running through it. I must however congratulate the narrator for doing a good job trying to make this something bearable.

Written from the heart was very disappointing
Very disappointing indeed. Normally a lover of Trisha Ashley’s books. No real storyline. Nothing like her other books.

Awful
No ending, it just stops. Kept waiting for the story to actually go somewhere but sadly it never connects.

Felt as if I had got on a Bus going at 60mph!!!
It took me ages to get into this book properly!!!Most definitely the worst book I have listened to in ages.. Such boring characters & the accents were awful..
Not someone who complains readily, but to me this book was just awful.. Even the ending was bad! 🙃🙃!!
