How do I make a purchase?

To make a purchase, you must first ask Alexa to read the audiobook you are interested in (“Alexa, read…”). Before she begins the sample, she will tell you how many credits you have available. At any point during the sample you can interrupt and purchase it. Simply say “Alexa, buy this book.” Alexa will then confirm you wish to use one of your credits. Do I need to play the sample in order to buy the book?

Yes, you must ask Alexa to read a sample of your chosen title before purchasing the book. Listen to the clips above to hear how it works.

Do I need to listen to the whole sample to buy the book?

No, you can interrupt the sample and purchase the audiobook at any point by saying “Alexa, buy this book”

Do I need credits in order to make a purchase?

Yes, you must have a credit available to make a purchase using Alexa. Cash purchases are not currently supported on Alexa-enabled devices.

Which devices can I make a credit purchase on?

You can spend your credits to make a purchase on any Alexa-enabled Echo or Fire device. This includes Echo, Echo Plus, Echo Dot, Echo Spot, Echo Show, Fire HD Tablets and Fire TV.

Can I listen to my book on another device after buying it with Alexa?

Yes, any books you purchase with Alexa will be added to your Audible library. You can switch between devices or listen via the Audible app without ever losing your place.
