Nabil Benali is a writer and producer of television shows, two passions that he shares with his wife, Souhila, who is for him "an ever-indispensable support". "The Spy of Algiers" is his second novel after "In Memory of Commander Larbi" published by Barzakh (2002). About his historical novel, which won the 2017 FRANCOPHONES PLUMES JURY PRIZE, he says: "I promised Kenzy, my son who was 6 years old at the time, that I would finish a book with pirates and that I would dedicate this book to him. That's how I got to the publication of "The English captive", initially "the spy of Algiers" in French.
