Wayne was born and raised in New Orleans, La. He is a 1993 graduate of both Benjamin Franklin High School and the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts Theater program. He was also a martial artist, competitive fencer and JV soccer goalkeeper. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy as a Nuclear Electronics Technician and learned to run nuclear reactors. This scared enough people that the Navy decided to send him to UCLA on a Naval ROTC scholarship. While at UCLA he worked as a Community Service Officer and Dispatcher for the UCPD, worked as an EMT, and was a performing Taiko Drummer. He graduated in 1999 with a BS in Japanese and became a Naval Officer. Somehow, despite deployments and traveling the world on various ships of the fleet, he managed to become an Ironman triathlete and also picked up a love of Circus Arts in addition to earning a Masters' in Social Science from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, New York. He has also recently completed a Masters in Business Administration, from the Whitman School at Syracuse University. Clearly a renaissance man who is as comfortable driving a 100,000 ton warship as swinging from a flying trapeze trying to catch a somersault, or breathing fire on six foot stilts, Wayne is still going stong. He retired from the Navy in 2018 and in preparation for heading back to the civilian world he obtained numerous professional certifications, including PMP, CISSP, PMI-ACP, ITILv3 and CSCS. He also re-earned his NREMT Basic, as well as Advanced EMT and Basic Firefighter certifications. When he isn't working as a firefighter he teaches flying trapeze classes and raises two kids, three dogs, four goats and a bunch of chickens. He even manages to squeeze in some photography every now and then as well.
