Victoria debut novel MOONCALVES was called "a stunning debut" (The Globe and Mail) and "the Millennial answer to Atwood" (Vancouver Sun), and was a shortlisted finalist for the 2020 Amazon Canada First Novel Award. "Into The Mist," a nonfiction account of a decades-long mystery in Northern Saskatchewan, is forthcoming with Kestrel Publications in Fall 2021. Her second novel AUTONOMY is forthcoming with Dundurn Press (Winter 2022); film rights have been acquired by Aisling Chin-Yee ("No Ordinary Man," 2020) at Fluent Films. 2017 Giller winner Michael Redhill called Autonomy "beautifully written and profoundly enthralling novel that made me wonder if Joan Didion had started writing literary futurism." Hetherington is working on a novel about women who fall in love with serial killers.
