Verena Dahms was born on a gray November day in Basel, Switzerland. From an early age, she developed a deep passion for the written word. She first devoured every book she could get her hands on before eventually picking up the pen herself. Her early works – short stories and travel reports – were published in various magazines and received enthusiastic acclaim. A notable highlight in her career was her participation in the project “Respect for You – Every Word a Breath”, which saw contributions from over 140 authors to support victims of violence. Verena Dahms enriched the project with a poignant short story, showcasing her ability to address important societal issues through literature. To hone her craft, she studied fiction writing and novel workshops at the renowned School of Writing. Her literary debut came in 2015 with the novel “Strange Child”, published by Moon House Publishing. Her works stand out for their exploration of taboo topics, feminism, social issues, and societal injustice. A central theme in her writing is female self-determination, which she approaches in all its complexity. With sensitivity and literary power, Verena Dahms tackles intricate and often challenging subjects, not only entertaining her readers but also inspiring them to reflect. Today, Verena Dahms lives with her partner in the picturesque Dordogne region of southwestern France. Surrounded by the inspiring natural beauty and rich culture of the area, she continues to dedicate herself to writing works that leave a lasting impact on her readers.
