About me ... I'm a journalist / author. Currently, I'm working in my second novel, a period neo-noir / crime novel set in early 80's Los Angeles. My novel, "Hidden" was based on, 'Hiding Out' an investigative piece I wrote about queer teens who escaped from gay-to-straight bootcamps into an underground network of safe-houses. Singer George Michael hired me to make a documentary-Hiding-Out (watch here: http://bit.ly/1gsrzMr) that was shown by during Equality Rocks. When I graduated in 2016, I gave #UCBerkeley's 2016 Winter Commencement Speech. It was an awesome experience & I wrote piece about it -- "How to Give a Graduation speech & survive talking about AIDS, Free Speech" -- that's up on Berkeley News (bit.ly/2izdIvO) I can usually be found somewhere in the sun; with a book, coffee, yoga mat, or chocolate milkshake in hand.
