Since growing up in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, on the eastern end of the Upper Peninsula, Susan M. Puska has worn many hats – archaeologist, newspaper reporter, U.S. Army officer, logistician, military diplomat, researcher, writer, poet, entrepreneur. As a military veteran, she is passionate about the hidden stories of people who strive against marginalization, including those who serve their country and face economic and social challenges when they return home. Her commitment to helping others overcome economic challenges led her to found KANAVA International LLC, a women-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned small business focused on assessing and building the management capacity of organizations for long term sustainability.
