Susan Kraus is a marriage and family therapist, a divorce/custody mediator, travel writer, and novelist. Her novels are character-driven psychological thrillers that tackle provocative social issues. "Fall From Grace,” "All God's Children," “Insufficient Evidence,” and "When We Lost Touch," feature a protagonist who is a therapist and mediator in a university town in Kansas. Kirkus Reviews for "Fall From Grace" noted that, "In her debut novel, Kraus...brings acute psychological observation to her storytelling...provides multilayered characters, with realistic contradictions and back stories...Kraus does a great job of explaining the plot's many technical; and forensic details...A thoughtful, balanced novel, and a great mix of courtroom drama and psychological thrills." Susan lives in Lawrence, Kansas, with her husband, Frank Barthell (and two pretty-much-launched adult kids). She has degrees from Montclair State University (B.A.), California State University at Chico (M.A.) and The University of Texas at Austin (M.S.W.) She was a counselor at Washburn University and taught graduate level in the School of Social Welfare at the University of Kansas for 13 years. She still works with clients, both therapy and mediation.
