Born in 1960, Stephanie Cassatly was raised as an expatriate in South America and Asia due to her father’s work. While traversing different continents, her Cuban father and Italian mother introduced her to rich landscapes and peoples, deepening her world view and sensibilties. She is a writer, teacher, mother and wife, not necessarily always in that order. Her writing was born out of a desire to make sense of her life's unique twists and turns, incalculable losses and ultimately to explore the mysteries in life that are seemingly greater than ourselves. Her stories are full of epiphanies that lead her characters and readers, not straightforwardly or quickly, to places full of grace, spirit, forgiveness and healing. Cassatly's memoir is the recipient of the "2017 Nautilus Book Award," a compliment to the organization's mission of promoting "Better Books for a Better World." She is a contributor and speaker for "The Forgiveness Project," a UK based not for profit organization and she teaches writing at Palm Beach Atlantic University. She resides with her husband in Florida on the Loxahatchee River and has two grown daughters. Visit her website at www.stephaniecassatly.com
