René Schröder pursues a clear mindset in his work and consulting: agility serves a higher purpose, namely successful product development and creating real added value for customers. For him, agility is not an end in itself, but always a means to an end – developing the right product, at the right time, in the right way to the customer. Companies should not simply ‘become agile’ without understanding the why and the underlying benefits. In his books, such as ‘Lost in the Ocean of Agility’, René Schröder emphasises that the true value of agility lies in the ability to continuously align products with the actual needs of customers and to react quickly to changes. Agility must therefore always serve the success of product development and market adaptation and must not be understood as the mere implementation of a set of methods. With his concept of the Imperfect Product Paradigm (IPP), René Schröder makes it clear that it is crucial to develop functioning solutions and to continuously improve them instead of waiting for perfection. The aim is to develop products that provide real benefits for the customer, rather than rigidly pursuing agile processes that do not offer any clear added value. His years of experience show that agility is only successful if it is aligned with the specific goals of the company and the needs of the customers.
