Michael Lake has lead a diverse career. Since first learning to play the piano at 8 and then the trombone at 10, Michael is a passionate Grammy-nominated musician, author, educator, and composer. He spent much of his career in the New York financial industry running sales and marketing divisions. He owned an award-winning New York marketing agency prior to starting up a successful corporate trade firm. As a jazz musician, Michael has created a number of well-respected on-line courses and improvisation methods along with popular several books for learning trombone and strengthening one’s ear for music. A life-long teacher, Michael developed the AI chatbot Jazz Master Savvy which allows musicians to interact with the content of his musician interview series and several of his books. Michael’s partnership with saxophonist Dave Liebman and Pianist Richie Beirach has produced several well-regarded books on jazz performance. He is the proud Dad of two brilliant young men.
