Martin Day is a one-time glassblower, one-time rock singer, one-time midge farmer and one-time IT techie from Woking, England. He currently works as a part-time Christian worker, part-time coach and part-time Sumo Wrestling party host. He is married with and has two grown-up children. Martin has written a series of short stories called The Animal Parables. Each tale features an animal who finds that things turn out to be quite different from how it imagined and profound life lessons are learned along the way. These seven, life affirming, tales will delight young minds and leave adults moved to reflection. In this collection Martin Day has re-discovered the power of the parable to layer deeper meanings under the skin of a simple narrative. In doing so he has created a collection of stories that sound at multiple levels. It's like the delight of finding that second tray under the first in a box of chocolates! Martin's creative website provides further information about these parables along with other free-of-charge resources to complement them. These include some PowerPoint presentations that can used to support public storytelling. His other creative endeavours can be also be found there. These include song lyrics, downloadable MP3 recordings and a variety of video presentations and live performance footage. There are also scripts for his character 'Pod the Alien'. Find them all at www.ShallowDeep.com.
