I was born and raised in a steel town in Canada along the shores of Lake Ontario. The eldest of five girls, I became a storyteller at a young age and learned early that stories had the power to heal and quiet my sisters. When I was eleven years old I won $5 for an essay titled "What I Want More Than Anything." What I wanted most was to tell stories that earned me five dollars. Or to be Queen of the World. I never got the Queen job, but along the way I've worked as a sidewalk sweeper, store greeter, bank teller, cruise director, event planner, antique hunter and my favorite job, Mom.
