Mala Kumar is a freelance writer, editor and author of over 40 books for children. A former editor with the not-for-profit multilingual publisher Pratham Books, she has conducted many storytelling sessions and workshops on recreational mathematics in schools. Her books include Crazy Mazy’s Maths Puzzles, Miss Laya’s Fantastic Motorbike, Paper Play, the Happy Maths series, Rupaiya Paisa series and a biography of Sir M.Visvesvaraya. She writes mostly about education, culture, environment, lifestyle, people, gardening and the social sector.
