Luke Wordley is the British author of The Fight. Luke wrote the first 30,000 words of The Fight in 2002, during a trip with his wife overseas. On returning to the UK, they took up jobs running an international development charity and the manuscript remained untouched for seven years. In 2009, after an intervening period of extraordinary highs and lows (see website for his story), Luke dug the manuscript out of the cupboard and began writing again. Luke self-published The Fight in the UK in December, 2011. At the request of a friend involved in prison ministry, Luke sold the book on a "Buy One, Give One Free" basis, with the free book given to prison chaplaincies. Despite the lack of marketing resource, The Fight reached no.2 on a Christian best-sellers list and received rave reviews. In 2013, Tyndale purchased the rights to The Fight internationally, with the new version due for release in the UK and United States in May, 2014. Luke is currently working on two more novels, set in Africa and the USA. The author lives with his wife and three children in the South of England. With well-developed characters, a strong moral and an engaging finish, it compares favourably with the finest male-orientated action novels in the mainstream today. Highly recommended." Davis Bunn - Best-selling author "I loved The Fight. It is so realistic and true to life. I can't recommend this book enough." Nigel Benn - two-time Middleweight World Champion "A powerful page-turner. Brilliant and deeply compelling." Andy Hawthorne OBE - Founder of The Message Trust "A high-paced, gritty and beautiful redemption story." Sarah Wynter - Editor of Youthwork Magazine
