While the old adage "Time flies" is undeniably true, there's one thing we often forget: we’re all the pilot. No matter how turbulent the skies may get or how dark the clouds loom, we hold the controls. Life, especially in recent years, has tested our ability to stay on course, but the good news is, we have the power to steer our time toward what matters most—meaning, purpose, and positivity. As a healthcare provider, I’ll admit there were times when it felt like I was flying through a storm. But just like any seasoned pilot knows, you keep your hands on the wheel, even when the ride gets bumpy. And so, in 2020—amidst the chaos and uncertainty of the world—I found myself landing on something unexpected: my first book. That moment of inspiration sparked not only one, but three books by early 2022. The first book began as a journal, a way to process emotions during a world that seemed to be spinning out of control. The second, five years in the making, was finally brought to life in late 2021, reignited by the success of my first. The third book came about after a conversation with an afterschool program director who, like so many, noticed the deep impact of the global upheaval on her students, especially their education. Each of these books tapped into a creative side of me I hadn’t fully explored before. They’ve become more than just words on pages—they’re a reminder that even in challenging times, we have the ability to create, connect, and inspire. My hope is that when you read them, you find a spark of positivity, just as I found joy and fulfillment in writing them. And who knows? I’m sure the muse will strike again when the time is right, and I’ll be ready to continue this writing journey—whenever it calls.
