She is the lone surviving child of gifted, unsettled, and iconoclastic parents. After being severely burned in a fire, she spent most of her childhood in the hospital, undergoing countless surgical procedures. Dr. Deguire attended Tufts University, graduating summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Widener University. She maintains a solo practice in Pennington, New Jersey. She has appeared on NPR, NBC, ABC, FOX and Sirius XM, and has been published in Tiny Buddha, Thrive Global, Psychology Today, the Trenton Times, Grown & Flown, and Medium.com. Dr. Deguire blogs about psychological resilience issues and is a national keynote speaker. She has over 12,000 social media followers on a variety of platforms including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Dr. Deguire is married, and the mother of two amazing daughters and one rambunctious dog.
