Lisa is the author and photographer of several award-winning books, and Rag and Bone won the Royal Society of Literature Giles St Aubyn Award for Non-Fiction. A beachcomber and mudlark, she grew up on eroding cliffs on the Isle of Sheppey, with stories of local pubs and churches that had been lost to the sea. Much of her childhood was spent fossicking along the island’s shores, collecting - among other things - fossils, sharks’ teeth and old bottles. After leaving the island, Lisa worked as a photographer for 12 years, with past clients including the Independent on Sunday, Daily Telegraph and Observer. For the past 20 years she has lived with her family in Cornwall, in a house shared with buckets and boxes of beach finds. www.lisawoollett. com
