Keith Burton is an award-winning public relations leader, journalist, and co-producer of the acclaimed documentary Dax’s Case, which explores ethical dilemmas and patient autonomy regarding the right to die. He is the founder of Grayson Emmett Partners, LLC. With over four decades of experience in communications and leading major public relations agencies, Keith is recognized as an authority on engaging front-line leaders and hourly employees, aligning the workforce with business strategies, driving corporate culture in the age of the hybrid model, and developing leadership skills for communications teams. Throughout his illustrious career, he has worked with Fortune 500 companies worldwide. Keith lectures on leadership and communications at colleges and universities throughout the U.S. and serves as a member of the PR Practitioners Advisory Group at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He also serves on the board of the annual International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC). Keith is deeply committed to mentoring educators and the next generation of leaders in public relations. He is an emeritus board member and past chair of The Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations. Keith is dedicated to community service, volunteering his time to support local initiatives that address addiction recovery. His ongoing contributions to thought leadership in public relations and his unwavering support for ethical practices in journalism and corporate communication underscore his commitment to making a meaningful impact both professionally and personally. Keith’s memoir, Shadows of Sobriety, delves into his family’s struggles with alcoholism, his own battles with panic attacks, and the impact of his parents’ behavior on his childhood and adult life. The memoir explores themes of resilience, faith, and the pursuit of redemption. He lives in the Chicago area with his wife and two golden retrievers.
