I was born in London and lived with my mum, dad, brother and two sisters in a very lively home where my mum was always singing. I really enjoyed primary school, but secondary school was not so much fun. I was never quite sure where I fitted in and I had a huge problem concentrating. When I got older I had two children and in time developed a little bit more self-belief and went to college. After that, I went to university to train as a teacher. As a teacher, I knew I enjoyed the company of children. I loved their sense of fun and imagination. I went from teaching in a primary school to leading a specialist provision for children with autism and I am now the advisory teacher for autism and special needs for the local authority. I have met some wonderful people along the way and feel very fortunate to have some very special friends. I have learned to repair things I have broken so nobody can tell and, like lots of people, I look very silly in a hat! I love spending time with my family and I really love to create new stories and test them out on my grandchildren. I enjoy photography, movie nights, theatre trips, reading, and going on holiday. I spend my time between London and Norfolk with my partner, Reggie the cockerpoo and Milly and Molly of course. .
