Since this is a book of satire and opportunities for giving offense are quite numerous in that genre, “Justin Case” is obviously a pseudonym created to protect the guilty. The real author of this book is passionate about teaching and learning. Among other things, he (or is it she?) was a finalist for state Teacher of the Year, served as both an elementary and high school principal, worked as a consultant on several elementary curricula, has authored several books (serious ones), and today is a graduate professor at a large state university. More importantly, (s)he has a deep conviction that every aspect of education should not only be meaningful, but also FUN ... and that concept applies to both learning and teaching! Neuro-scientists tell us it is literally impossible to think deeply about something you really don’t care about. Thus engaging your students (and yourself) in active, enjoyable learning lies at the very heart of all effective instruction. So if this book not only made you chuckle, but also made you think a bit more deeply, then it has served its purpose.
