Born in South Carolina and raised in Virginia, Julian Mihdi is the author of The Thai Word for Fortune, Chimera: Four Stories and a Novelette and co-author of the novel Emerald Chant. He graduated from George Mason University in 2009 and went on to receive a TEFL certificate for teaching English as a second language. Arriving in Southeast Asia as a teacher, Mihdi became steeped in Thai culture by living and working in Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Bangkok over the better part of the last decade. Mihdi enjoys spending his time reading novels, listening to classic hip-hop, practicing Thai, playing basketball, discovering secret cafes and marveling at the mysteries of the universe.
