For over 34 years, Joseph Spada, LPN, has been at the forefront of the adult family home (AFH) industry, turning his passion for serving and caregiving into a formula for exceptional success. As a pioneer of high-end Adult Family Homes in Seattle and Bellevue, Washington, Joseph has licensed and operated thriving AFHs that have served well over a thousand residents and established many "firsts," earning him a reputation for innovation and excellence. Blending high-quality standards learned from living and working at the University Hospital in Geneva, Switzerland, family values from his Italian origin and upbringing (born in Sicily), and nursing skills acquired in the USA, Joseph left the hospital and nursing home world in 1991 to bring a fresh twist on de-institutionalizing long-term care by delivering highly personalized, competent, and loving nursing care in small residential homes. Through his role as a DSHS-approved instructor, he has equipped more than 1,560 students with the tools and knowledge to master AFH administration, licensing, and operations. His step-by-step systems and straightforward teaching style ensure that his clients and students walk away ready to take actionable steps toward immediate results. He has taught First-Aid and CPR as a Red Cross instructor and tutored nursing students for North Seattle Community College. Joseph is a master at helping AFH owners create unparalleled care programs that both elevate their reputation and foster deep trust in their communities. Whether it’s guiding providers through regulatory compliance, resolving citations, working with difficult clients, or helping them design standout service models, Joseph offers a hands-on approach that leaves no detail overlooked. Joseph’s students and coaching and consulting clients praise his ability to turn complex challenges into simple, repeatable strategies that deliver immediate impact. His expertise isn’t just theoretical — it’s built on decades of trial-and-error and proven success. Joseph is tri-lingual, fully fluent in French, Italian and English. He lives in Seattle with his wife and three [grown] daughters. He loves playing acoustic guitar and bakes outrageously delicious – so he’s been told – Sicilian-style pizzas.
