Jose A. Carmona (March 9, 1960 - Present) was born in Cuba and came to the U.S. at an early age. He was raised in Union City, NJ. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from U. of Tampa. He has a Bachelors degree from Drew University (NJ) and two Masters degrees from Columbia University/Teachers College (MA & Ed.M.). His publications include: an ESL reading/ writing textbook series, a Spanish textbook, two books of poetry - Adolescent Blues and When the Cicadas Came: The Loss Poems, Globalizing the Curriculum with the Latino Literature of the US, Teaching and Learning in ESL Education, and Perspectives on Community College ESL, Vol. 3: Faculty, Administration, and the Working Environment published by the TESOL organization. Snow Dancing in New Jersey, a novella, and Lifeless: 300 Words or Less Macabre Short Stories, a horror short story book, were published by PenIt! Publishers. Jose lives in Florida with 7 huskies and 30 chickens.
