Jester is a physicist, sci-fi aficionado, veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Dragon-Con 2011-16. Growing up, Jester spent his winters in Fairbanks, Alaska and his summers in Los Angeles, Ca. Growing up as the skinny kid taught him a lot about the importance of fairness, dignity, and gentleman's tactics in battle. Namely, how much pain they'll leave you in. Jester is a retired specialist in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U. S. Army, where his smart mouth earned him a LOT of pushups. Now he stays home and writes, tinkers, and makes token attempts at staying out of trouble. Most of his success in the latter can be attributed to his devoted domestic partner, who possesses tremendous patience and a mysterious understanding of the workings of so-called "normal" people. While Jester has not always been a writer, he's been a lover of fantasy, sci-fi and D&D his whole life. His first horrid ramblings were written in his teens. By his early twenties he was writing novellas featuring D&D characters he had played in the past. These were equally bad, if not worse. After that he took a break from fiction and dedicated his writing efforts to letters home from Afghanistan and later Iraq. In 2015, a friend challenged him to a NaNiWriMo word count showdown and in the conflagration of his intense desire to win at everything Maker was born. Despite his 30+ years on earth, Jester will say that he has only learned a few things; that life is too short for bullshit, that the 240 Bravo is the preferred weapon for facing down the inevitable zombie apocalypse and that your chosen family matters before anything else.
