A former journalist I live on a farm at Belli Park close to the picturesque country town of Kenilworth in the state of Queensland, Australia with my husband Peter. We breed Angus and Droughtmaster cattle and I negotiate the paddocks in a trusty old Landrover with help from a menagerie of dogs including, three kelpies and two Jack Russells. During my years working as a country reporter I gained firsthand knowledge of the ups and downs and goings on in small country towns. I also met dozens of hilarious and lovable characters all of which form the foundation of my book Damengin.
