Jay Heins was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley. book of hours, his first collection poetry and photos, explores love of place, family, the body, aging, grief, and loss. A second book, Wrecto Verso: Haiku for Cyclists is a series of poems and illustrations directly inspired by cycling and an ode to the moments, objects, friends, and community witnessed and felt through biking. Jay holds a BFA from University of Ottawa and works in education technology consultant as an art director and production lead. He finds joy travelling through the world on two wheels and lives in Ottawa with Tanya and Samuel.
