Henry H Harris knows Jesus. He has been Henry’s constant companion for more than fifty years. In addition to being a pastor and a church planter, Henry is an award-winning author who has published more than 500 articles about life in Christ. For thirty years he has taught the in-Christ lifestyle to both large and small groups in churches, conferences, and retreats, de-mystifying what it means to be an apprentice to Christ, clarifying the discipleship process, and helping people understand how we can become more like Jesus. Random facts about Henry: • Henry didn’t grow up wanting to be an author. When he was ten, his dream was to become the Yankee’s center fielder when Mickey Mantle retired. That didn’t work out. • He loves everything about his home state of Louisiana except the mosquitos. Give him a cup of gumbo and an oyster po’boy and laissez les bon temps rouler. • Favorite authors include Flannery O’Connor, Mark Twain, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Eudora Welty, and Annie Dillard. • Some mentors from afar: Don Carson, Darrell Bock, Robert Stein, Craig Blomberg, Craig Keener, Eugene Peterson, Dallas Willard, Frank Laubach, Jeanne Guyon, Nicolas Herman. Henry has been happily married to his wife, Lauren, since 1976. They live in San Juan Bautista, California with one daughter, two granddaughters, and three dogs. In his free time, Henry enjoys reading, cooking, boating, scuba diving, biking, and long walks with his wife.
